A stone of vision and clarity - Diopside is a majestic stone that is celebrated for its strong visualisation and manifestation properties. Its name is derived from the Greek words "di" and "opsis", meaning "double" and "appearance". Diopside has been used since ancient times. Some cultures placed it on the forehead in the belief that it encouraged good dreams, whilst others buried the dead with the gemstone in the belief that it had strong connections to the tree of life and that it ensured the renewal of their lost loved one's afterlife. A Calcium Magnesium Silicate that forms part of the pyroxene mineral family - Diopside is an important rock-forming mineral found within igneous rocks and meteorites. There are several varieties of this beautiful stone, such as Chrome Diopside, Star Diopside, Violan and Cat's Eye. This striking crystal is typically white, blue, green, yellow or brown with a glasslike lustre.

Diopside has many wonderful healing properties.
