The species of Coral most often referred to as “Blue Coral” is Heliopora Coerulea. Like all other Coral species, it has become increasingly endangered due to the devastating global destruction of reefs. It is widely found in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, with the largest known colony located off southeastern Japan.
