A stone of comfort and inner strength. Apache Tears have a special connection to the history of the Apache culture. The name comes from a haunting and heartbreaking story of the Apache tribe. In the 1980's, the US military launched an ambush against the Apache tribe. The attack took place on a cliff overlooking what is today known as Superior, Arizona.
It is estimated that 50 out of 75 warriors met their deaths instantly. The remaining Apache warriors chose to ride their horses off the cliff, plummeting to a certain death rather than to be killed by their enemy. The families of those lost had gathered near the base of the cliff, crying hysterically and weeping over the lost lives of their loved ones. The legend goes that the burden of their sorrow were so sincere, that their tears were embedded into black stones as it hit the ground where the lives of their loved ones were lost.
It is said that whoever owns an Apache Tear Drop will never have to cry again, for the Apache women have shed countless tears in place of yours.

These special tiny spheric tear-like pebbles are made out of semi-precious mineral Obsidian and are found in western United States, particularly Arizona and Nevada that are areas known for their desert-like topography.
